Hello from Maryland

Hi my name is Monday and I'm from Baltimore, MD. Joined in this month to the forum and have done Videog for 5 years as a hobby and as work for 3 years.

Tim Brown March 30th, 2006 09:04 AM

Greetings from down I-95 in Richmond,

Good to see others from the area on the DVi boards.

I'm not sure if you're aware of some of the local groups catering to film and video professionals and hobbyist alike, but if you're interested I can PM you some links.

Tim Brown

That would be cool, thanks Tim. Anyone else from Maryland or VA?

Michael Liebergot March 31st, 2006 03:29 PM

Maryland here as well.

Agreed with lots of video organizatins to check out in our area.

If you haven't yet and since you are in Baltimore, you should check out the Baltimore Videographers Association.

We meet the 2nd Tuesday of every month.

Check out the site here:

Great bunch of people and a great way to network.

Hey, all, I'm a DC videographer/editor. Any groups down here?

You can catch me mostly in the A1U forum here at dvinfo. Though, I'll be on the FCP forum soon when I finally upgrade to Studio.

Michael,

Are you a member of PVADC? What are the meetings like. I was poking around their site to get a sense of what they're doing and decide if it would be good to join. I'm already in ITVA DC and WiFV and barely have time to make those meetings. But if it's a good group I might spring for it too.

Barry Gribble April 2nd, 2006 08:13 PM

There is DC Film Salon... they have a mailing list, and meet every month.

Welcome, Monday.

Dave - what kind of stuff do you shoot?

Monday Isa April 2nd, 2006 09:40 PM

That's great there's people from the Maryland here. Thanks for popping in the thread.

Joe Carney April 3rd, 2006 09:32 AM

I'm live in Fairfax, there are others around, but I haven't seem much happening. Would like to get back into helping out independents and music video folks. Lots of fun. I didn't even know about the local groups in DC. I'll have to check them out.

Barry, thanks for the info on the salon, I just joined.

Baltimore

Just came across this thread. Welcome Hon! Been in Balto my whole life, still plugging away at the video hobby-profession-hobby-profession.

What sorts of things have you worked on, or like to work on?

Jeff

Welcome to DVinfo Jeff. I primarily film Quinceanera's they are lots of fun to do. One discouraging factor is they do run cheaper than my wedding packages but I have a blast doing them more than weddings. Besides that I have also done projects for different organizations for fun and for pay and am just loving this field. How about yourself?

Patrick Jenkins June 13th, 2006 08:27 PM

Also in Baltimore (Owings Mills).

http://baltimorevideographers.com/ - cool, had no idea that was here. Seems I missed the meeting tonight, but I'll do my best to be at the next one (Tue July 11?).
