I act as director, camera operator, writer, editor, even actor. (No i dont just shoot myself..hahah) please check out my website for more info.

Hi Michael, welcome aboard (H)DV Info Net, good to have you with us!

Cole McDonald September 6th, 2006 05:53 PM

fun stuff, keep it up. Your footage looks a smidge over-exposed on the bouncy ball short, you may want to lower the exposure in camera slightly. I see you're shooting HD now and the exposure looks much better in that short.

Joseph Olesh September 7th, 2006 11:36 AM

the shorts are fun.

what do you shoot/cut with?

website looks great, best of luck....

Michael Rapadas September 7th, 2006 01:50 PM

yeah, i use final cut studio for pre/post editing. As for the website, i use the basic program of iWeb. (I'm not a html genius anyway) Thanks, any suggestions on how to get my vision out to the masses, please let me know. (I having a really tough time as it is) Thanks everyone! Are there any upcoming film contests/festivals that i would be able to join?

Joseph Olesh September 7th, 2006 02:09 PM

filmmakermagazine.com is a great resource for festival dates and info. there are a variety of festivals for all different types of films.

Michael or any young filmmakers out there,
I produce their TV show which airs on TV20 (formerly the WB). We do a lot of documentary style segments on the TV show. If you want to document stories of young people you know and submit it to us, we might air it. Check out youthoutlook.org and click the YO! TV link to see what types of story we're looking for.

Also look into current.tv, they're a good resource too.

good luck,
min

Hey min,

do you guys commission pieces, or is it all viewer submitted?

Min Lee September 19th, 2006 06:37 PM

Colin,
We have in the past but we haven't done as much of that lately because of funds. Mainly we have a few staff and working with other organizations to produce stories. If you have a really good story in mind, email me and I'll talk to my superviser to see what we can work out. I don't really deal with the budget so all I can offer is opportunity to put it on the air.
