Noob from New York

Hi,

It's nice to be on here.
I want information basically. I wanted to get into making independent films (via transfer from HDV). I'm sort of new to cinematography in general, so I want to get as much info from as many sources as I can.

I wanted to buy the JVC GY HD-200. I might end up getting the JV GU HUD -110. I won't ask pertinent questions about these two here. I think there are threads dedicated to these models.

Anybody have these and wanna give me a review or tell me anything I should know that the JV site does not tell me? I read that the battery only lasts about 2.5 hours.

Hi Robert, welcome aboard DV Info Net!

Our HD200 forum can be found here: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/forumdisplay.php?f=98

Browse around there, you can also search specifically in just that forum on say the term 'battery' with our extensive search engine: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/search.php

If you can't find what you are looking for post a question in the HD200 forum.

All the best,

Well, howdy, neighbor! I don't post in the introduction threads very often, but it's rare to find someone so close by (I'm only a few miles east of Centereach); figured I'd drop in and say hello. As for your camera query, well, I'm still a DV man myself, but I'm sure you'll find plenty of help with all of your questions at the links Rob provided.

Glad to have you with us!
