Hey there! I'm Richard, but most people call me Rick for short.

Long time forum reader and finally got my account renewed. I'm based out of the Northern Virginia/DC area, age 26, and have been primarily working as a Government/DoD AV technician for the past 6 years. I've been a video hobbyist for about twice that, though, and have made it my main career outside of my job. On the side, I've done a ton of online videos, worked at a public access station, entered a few online film contests and did the 48-Hour Film Project, and worked on a couple short and feature lengths films by friends and strangers alike. My goal currently is to do some shorts of my own and hopefully get them into larger and more recognized film festivals and to maybe do some music videos for bands in the DC area.

I'm currently shooting on a Canon XL2, GL2, and Optura 60. I have a 16mm K-3 camera that may see the light of day if I can get it working, but otherwise, I'm all about video. I'm editing on a self-built PC using the Adobe video collection.

I've already met a couple people from here in the real world, so please feel free to hit me up if you want to chat about filming in general or have some projects you need help with!
