...or didn't they use to have a few films buried amongst the ads at iFilm.com?

Sheesh...they've added so many ads to their site, it isn't worth the effort to go there--and I'm here to say that I officially won't be.

Anyone else swearing off sites with too many ads?

(FYI: I used to go to About.com often...but ever since they adopted that ad blitzkrieg policy, I haven't been there since)

Not only have I given up on some sites due to "Ad blitzkrieg" policy, but I have given up on a growing number of TV programs for the same reason. And to make matters worse, the few stations I use to enjoy (e.g., the History Channel) have created more hour-long programs that stretch-out 28 minutes of content to one hour so as to pack in commercial, after commercial, after commercial (you get the idea).

Films are going the same direction, down the toilet. There is very little creativity and a whole lot of commercialism that follows "formula". Not sure where this is all going but righ now it is dismal from the viewer perspective.

Yeah, that's why I stopped watching IFC a while ago. Granted most of the commercials were film/movie related but still. I thought it was supposed to be a cable channel. And haven't been to the movies in about 3-4 years now.

But I agree. ifilm stinks now. I remember when it was all just low/no-budget indy films. Now there are so many commercial ads and spots for big budget films, it's not even worth it.

Heck, you can't even go to the ATM now without ads. My bank, Standard Federal, now has ads after you put your pin number in for local pharmacies. Really out of hand.

I watch less than 2 hours of TV a month. I can't stand the advertisting.
