Robert Rodriguez is a "Madman"

Mike Allred's highly successful "Madman" comic was option by Hollywood director Robert Rodriguez a few years ago but there hasn't been much movement on the project - until now

I wish this guy would stick too writing. Hasn't really iimpressed me with his direction.

Although the segment in Four Rooms was better than the other stuff he has done. The Spy Kids franchise seems, well, for kids.

Robert Rodriguez had so much promise, but I don't think he's gone in the right direction. He hasn't made a serious movie (drama) yet - he's making video game movies. It's just not my cup of tea...I can't get into video game commercials.

Anyway, does anyone else feel the same? I'd take a low-budget drama over anything he's put out lately. I liked Desperado, but I can't recall anything after that..

Once again, I agree.

Even FROM DUSK TILL DAWN had promise, but then fell on its face. I never have really dug the Desperado (mariachi films).

He did some sellout crap called, "Varsity Blues". It was some teen stupid movie...nothing worth watching.

It's weird because the guy was #1 on the radar way back. But, he dropped the ball for credibility for me. He went the opposite direction I thought he would...which is Hollywood. He says, "I'm anti-Hollywood!" But, the truth is...he's making throw-away movies. If that isn't Hollywood to a "T" I don't know what is?

Hmm...I'm feeling a new thread coming on called, "Who's your favorite Director and why?" lol

He is indeed slipping the ball a lot these days with movies. But
from what I hear the Spy Kids series does quite well with kids
(the target audience)? If so, then who are we to "judge" that.
Perhaps that is better suited to him.

You can't deny the influence he had on modern day cinema
though. Especially to give hope to a lot of people.

We'll see how he does with this new movie. If it isn't received
well then it might very well be the end of RR.
