Camera Cell Phones

I know in Japan, you can get a 3CCD video cellphone with 1/2" chips that records in super Hi Def, but here in North America we are still pretty limited to dinky little cameras in our cell phones.
Well, I'm looking for a new celly, and I think I might get a camera phone. Can anyone give me some info on the quality of picture these things put out or any real life thoughts on them?

So are you talking about the phone / camera's you can get in
your country or do you want to import one? I shouldn't expect
too much from those camera's though. Especially in regards to
the lenses etc. I might be getting a new nokia from my provider
shortly that captures at 640 x 480 and is rumored to be one of
the better models in that range (no highe res here yet). I will
let you know how it goes!

If I could be assured I could get one from Japan that would work here, I would.
However, I'm really only considering NA phones. I know the best of the new ones here record at 640x480, and can do up to 15fps video (not sure at what res, though). I saw on a TV show about Japanese tech that they are getting close to 2mp in camera phones.
My big question is how good is the picture?

cell stuff

I'm staying with a low-tech phone until I have Camera, GPS, Pocket PC, and cell all in one.

In my personal situation it fruitless until I can combine 4 units into 1.

Big help I was <;~)

Get a phone with bluetooth and GSM/GPRS, make it talk to one of those new Sony cams with Bluetooth. Should work while the phone is in your pocket. If the bandwidth of the GPRS service is big enough, you should be able to stream live video from the camera to any IP-coonected PC in the world. Has enybody here tried this?
