Any 2D/3D animators out there?

Hello all,
I am currently in the development stage of creating a live action/animated children's show. I plan on using live actors composited into a 3D set, with 3D characters. I am far from doing anything like Shrek, more like a Blues Clues. Anyone with small children will know what I'm talking about.

Anyways, has anyone done any live action/ animated shows? What I would like to know, is what tools you are using. What kind of approach did you take in the animation that you would like to share?
Thanks,
Keith

Keith,

I'm not an animator but you might take a peek over at Digital Animators' site:
http://www.digitalanimators.com/

You might pick up some tips or leads to other resources there.

Thanks for the address, Ken. I'll look at it and see what they have.

If you are into LightWave 3D then a good place to look is
www.flay.com.

Unfortunately, I am stuck with a dinosaur called Infini-D. It is the only 3D program that I feel at home with. It is somewhat limited, but I can use it better than the rest.

I was just hoping to hear from other people doing animation. Things like texures or models aren't as big a concern as lip synching the characters, frame rate for animation to be composited, and Broadcast safe colors. Stuff like that.

I am still months away from finishing the first few tapes, and halfway through the first show. I'm just happy it won't be a live show!
Thanks again,
Keith
