SONYS NEW HD and EH TVs

Whats up with these TVs. This one is ENHANCED DEFINITION (ED) http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=KE42M1&INT=ILC-tv_hero_KE42M1

and this one is HD but it caries a crazy price tag of $16,000

Now, I thought HD prices were coming down, why would a 60inch HD be $16,000??? and what is the difference between HD and ED?????????

from Wikipedia.com:

EDTV generally refers to a standard-definition 704 pixel × 480 line signal that is broadcast at 60 progressive (complete) frames per second (NTSC) or 704 pixel × 576 line signal that is broadcast at 50 progressive frames per second (PAL). This is commonly referred to as "480p" or "576p". A standard definition television signal is broadcast with interlaced frames and is commonly referred to as "480i" or "576i". EDTV signals are generally broadcast in a 16:9 aspect ratio, and are generally considered equivalent in picture quality to the DVD format.

Currently, Fox Network is broadcasting in EDTV in the US, although they are currently migrating to HDTV
