Is this the ultimate Production Vehicle?
...or is this completely nuts? How do *you* drive your IMAX gear around?

That is fantastic! What a hoot!
I don't know the two gents in the article, but I have worked with that production company on an IMAX film some years ago--yup, IMAX on Steadicam. It was the "little" camera, the 8-perf Iwerks--only 45 lbs (plus rig=80lbs+). They were a great bunch of guys, very enjoyable experience. Never saw the film, though. Thankfully, the subject matter was a bit more sedate than rushing into tornadoes...jeez! |
If I were a superhero, I think that would be my car.

Wow, maybe a Sherman tank would be the ultimate camera platform! Replace that gun barrel with a lens mount! :)

Listening to JohnBoy and Billy on the radio one morning, and they had a tornado chaser building something like this. He was even auctioning off rides in it, chasing said tornados...

They make a killer grillin sauce too :) |
This is just the thing to use to cover the next presidential political conventions.
