Question for Vancouver Folks

Hi all - I am going to Vancouver with some friends on Sep. 10th for a couple of days, and wanted to get some info on what might be a good, reasonably priced place to stay. I've never been, and all I've heard is that Robson St. is a cool place. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I'm actually flying from FL. to Seattle, staying there for a couple of days, and then driving to Vancouver for a couple more days, then back to Seattle.

Thanks!

Lots of good things to do in Vancity, depends on what you are into.

For downtown lodging, I'd stay at the Cecil Hotel. It isn't nearly the nicest hotel in the city, but it has a good location on Granville St. (one of the central downtown streets) and coincidentaly happens to be above the second best strip club in town.
Check out: http://vancouver.com

If you have any specific questions, email me!

Hehe thanks - though strip clubs aren't my thing. Thanks for the link!

Anyone else from Vancouver? Would love some friendly advice. Thanks!

Days Inn downtown is central to a lot of touristy places and within walking distance to Robson St., Coal Harbour. Both two really chichi places.

When I walk to work I'll see what else catches my eye.

For street community and shopping life I would recommend Commercial St., Granville Island, W. 4th and South Main.

Thanks for that. Luckily none of us are into touristy stuff, so that info helps a lot.

Imran, you should look up Dylan while you're there, he knows where all the best sushi is.

If by "sushi" you mean "girls" and by "best" you mean "dirtiest", then YES! I know where all the best sushi is. :)

Imran, if you guys want some chaperoning when you hit the town, let me know, I'm there.

Hey dude thanks! I myself would love to take you up on that; it's a group of 4 so I'll have to see how the vote goes, you know how it is.

Just got back from my trip up there in Vancouver. I must say, you guys are very lucky to be living in such a beautiful and diverse city. And everyone is so nice!

Hope you guys are doing ok with all the smoke from the fires.

Have you met with Dylan during your trip? that's why the DVchallenge's web site didn't change yet? :)

Imran Zaidi September 15th, 2005 03:35 PM

Heya - no unfortunately I didn't. I was vacationing with a group of folks and you know how that goes...

Keith Loh September 15th, 2005 05:25 PM

The smoke is all away Imran. I was in another Province and so I missed the smoke. Now it's back to normal. Sun followed by rain followed by sun.

Actually I just got back into town about an hour ago! I was about 400 miles out of town for the week.

What's the smoke you guys are talking about?

Keith Loh September 15th, 2005 10:47 PM

Burns Bog caught on fire.
