Man, am I glad I wasn't mixing this down.........
Tripped over this on the Huffington Post:
I can't even begin to imagine how it was done, though I doubt the vocals were taken from the shoot locations. Anyone want to gives us amateurs a "heads up" on the way it works? CS |
Re: Man, am I glad I wasn't mixing this down.........
If you look around the 30sec mark, the lip synch is out. So we can tell that it has been re-vocaled or semi-synched to a studio recording. Also, I can't hear any ambience noise.
Ideal thing is to have one master recording that everyone sings or plays along to and keep perfect timing with, and then you use that to align and multi-cam edit off. Andrew |

With the internet, I'd guess a "sync" track of some sort was laid down, then probably studio tracks for each of the vocalists/soloists, then a series of video shoots. Since you see several of them wearing headphones, they probably are listening to the recording while performing - sort of ADR/looping in reverse...
