CNN Pipeline - Would you pay for it?

Well, CNN is at it again. They tried to make us pay for online video news and then they finally made it free. They have just released a new commercial free online video delivery service allowing a user to view up to 4 live streams at once. The have a daily rate (as needed) of .99 cents, a monthly rate of $2.99 and a yearly rate of $24.99. They also offer a 14 day free trial which requires a credit card retainer so if you forget to cancel it will automatically bill your card, a typical strategy for free trials. I thought I was the only one that couldn't get people to pay for breaking news online video. It didn't work before, so I don't know why they are trying it again. Would you pay for this service even as affordable as it is?

Some people just don't like to pay for premium services online, me included.

Perhaps it is aimed at the business and investment community for whom really current video news may be of value.

There are just too many other places that the same news can watched for free. So, this will eventually fail like their first attempt. Anybody that pays for it, well............

like most of us, i can sit thru a few commercials, but there are those who can afford to pay for commercial-free content... notice the 17% number in this survey? do you really think that cnn did that without any market research:
