It was wonderful this afternoon, to see a Canadian hockey team finally win an Olympic gold medal. Thanks, Canucks, for sparing us this fate. Think how insufferable it would be in the U.S.A., if our own team had scored this victory. We'd be hearing little else for months, than about the "Miracle in Torino". In Canada, they'll be raving about this all year and loving every bit of it.

A U.S. gold medal would have resulted in even more Yanks playing the game. Remember how our women's gold medal in soccer expanded that sport here? What could be more fitting than to have the country that inflicted this thing on the world, to have to suffer through this?

Then give us the Stanley Cup back too.

I 2nd that. I live down the street from the hockey hall of fame, the rightful home of Lord Stanley's Cup. I'm aware that there is two cups but Tampa is not the place for it, bring it back to TO. Sorry Dylan, Canucks suck and Bertuzzi is a thug/slug. Go Leafs Go... (I know, we suck too)...

PS: do you guys want Pat Quinn back because I think he will be out of a job once the Olympics in Turin are done.

Actually, most of the fans out here know the Canucks suck. Biggest bandwagon city ever. I kind of like the Canucks though, being a fan keeps you on your toes.

Yea to the ladies because our men sucked BIG time today. Go from gold to no medal at all, for shame. Not all bad though, the camera work for the hockey games sucked on my tv and even more so on a 15' high HD screen set up at the CBC's broadcast centre. 2010 for you Vangroovy people.

I think Pat Quinn transfered his bad luck to the Canadian olympic team. The combined salary of the Canadian team was pretty close to the GDP of the teams that beat them in the olympics...okay I exagerate, but I do think Quinn has something to do with the fact that the leafs and the olympic team suck. And I'm a leaf fan!

It's a real shame. I was at my friend's house watching the game and our friends (a band from Vancouver) were over. It was still 0-0 in the 3rd period and I was telling one of the guys in the band that they should write a song about how I hate Ovechkin.
