Google offers Free Websites

http://pages.google.com/

Found this last night....Google is now offering to it's gmail members--the chance to use and build, host their own websites free on Google.

Easy to use templates---uploading of pictures, files, movies etc and linking to it etc.

You get a 100 megabyte storage[dunno about the transfer limits].

You can't tweak a lot of your HTML code, which is a blessing for a lot of people.

Give it a try!

And if anyone needs a free gmail account let me know![Almost everyone that wants one has one nowadays...]

the price sounds just right to me.

i just tried it. I got a message "due to such high demand we are no longer accepting registration, submit your email address to recieve notice for new registration openings"

just like all google products everyone wants it.

Can't Microsoft come up with their own ideas? I mean now they're stealing Apple's marketing techniques... what next?

Google says it works with Firefox. You could use Firefox for Mac OS X.

Yep..Firefox on the Mac works with Google Pages.
[Though my knee jerk reaction is that anything that doesn't work with Safari sucks! The Gap website for one...]

Googlepages is still in Beta of course, but works okay for me. It's good for building very simple sites, right in your web browser and spares us from a lot of HTML code.

Though I wouldn't mind the ability to FTP in the future...

And free is absolutely good.
