What tripod for DVX-100/102

Hello forum members. Have a hard time choosing a mid range/price tripod.

Would have the camera with a camera top light + and maybe wiresless mic receivers.

What would you choose and why if possible ? Thanks.

1) Miller DS 5 system (loved using them in uni, on the XL-1s - over the bigger Manfrotto's, for Sony DSR-500)

2) Vinten Pro-5 system (as suggested by my dealer, previously)

3) Vinten vision 3 head with 3775 aluminum legs. (as suggested by their website)

4) any other great tripods to recommend and why ?

I would recommend a DS10 over a DS5

Can't help you with the others...I can only speak regarding the DS5. I had the DS5 and exchanged it for the DS10. The internal balance springs of the DS10 were worth the difference (for my VX2100). I don't even have to use drag to maintain a tilt.

cheers.

If you have the dough, I would highly recommend the Vinten Vision 3
with two stage legs. I have the aluminum legs, but they also make
carbon fibre. Because you can install different 'weight' springs, I've
used everything from a palm corder to a DSR-500WS with great
results.

The Miller is good, but IMO the Vinten is better.

Watch out for that new cheap Vinten. Rumors are that it's a
Bogen in Vinten clothes.

will keep that in mind.

thanks

Those DSR500 sure are heavy duty, aren't they ;)

were using Bogen/Manfrottos (cant remember model) on them.
