Broken Sachtler Tripod & AbelCineTech

I bought a FSB 6 & 2-stage tripod from AbelCineTech last September, and one of its bottom legs broke - the leg came all the way out. So, I took the tripod in today to their Oak Brook (chicago) office, showed Gregger the problem and he didn't even bat an eye - he gave me their floor model and took mine to have it fixed.

THIS IS WHY I buy everything from Gregger Jones (and Kari) at AbelCineTech.

To be honest, I would have never created a relationship with AbelCine if it hadn't been for THIS site and its sponsoring by AbelCine. When I began buying equipment last Sept., B&H didn't stock the EX1; so, I started calling dvinfo's sponsors, and Gregger said, without even meeting me first, that he would overnight an EX1 in from their NY office and NOT charge me for the shipping plus I didn't have to pay for the camera until I picked it up.

There are only a few companies that I can honestly recommend: AbelCineTech is definitely one of them.

If I can (since its not a sponsor), I would like to name the only other business that has amazing customer service: lensrentals.com. Chris Hurd, if you read this, I know lensrentals.com isn't a sponsor but they provide the best rental prices by far and have been great every time I have rented from them, including this past week. I hope its ok that I mention them because not many people know of them for video rentals; so, I am just trying to help anyone that might read this post.
