Hi, David.................

The tripod you mention is not really designed for video, as it does not feature a bowl mount to easily level the head independent of the leg angles.

As such it would be a curse on a dolly as it will constantly need leg length changes to get it level.

That said, from what I can see of the leg design, the only dolly that might be right is this one from Manfrotto:

Manfrotto Video/Movie Heavy Dolly - Dollies And Spreaders

which is designed for tripods without the double spiked feet, and is thus much heavier.

I have one and it works well, but what a beast.

I use it with my Manfrotto 528XB sticks for my jib, which like yours (I believe) do not have double spiked feet but a tubular leg end.

David,
I agree with Chris-I use this set of wheels (5 inch-gotta love 'em) have used it with the 3246 single tube legs and now with the 525 double spiked foot-I had to modify a set of feet in place of the tube leg locks but it works great. Other than the fact that it does weight in at about 17 pounds in it's full size and frankly isn't to much lighter even after shortening up the outriggers (can be a bit unwieldly to move with a narrower footprint but at least it fits thru doors now) it still gotta be right about 16 pounds. Regardless it works quite well and I would think it would work with the 3021 legs.

Thanks for that info... i thought about getting a new tripod to fit the dolley, but perhaps i will get a shoulder stabilizer instead... any input on this one?

Re: Bogen 3021PRO dolly suggestion

I believe that most of the Varizoom stabilizers like this are actually made by DVTec which makes and sells under it's own name. IE DVMultirug for one. I have 2 different rigs by DVTec but the Multirig I got from Danny who owns DVTec and the other which was made by his company I got from Varizoom.

Anyway it depends on your needs as to what to get but the 3264 (028) legs would work with those wheels nicely and here's the link to DVtec just in case you decide to go that way. DVTEC - Home
