legs for a sachtler fsb-6
I know this has been asked before, but my caveats are: I don't need the strongest, or lightest, or quickest to set up. I just want the lowest cost, quality, sturdy legs for my fsb-6 and EX1R.

Re: legs for a sachtler fsb-6
I use Sachtler DA-75/2D-ENG legs with my FSB-4 and EX1R. They came as a system (on ebay) and of those available, I chose them because they had the design features I wanted: mid-level spreader, smallest (collapsed) and lightest in class (they were my travel sticks).
This link lists the 75mm legs at B&H in increasing price (BTW some 100mm legs have 75mm adapters): Tripod Legs I think understanding what features are important to you beyond the subjective "sturdy" will help narrow down the list to a shortlist that you can research here and find discussions about. But that's just the way I go about these things, YMMV. p.s. With some searching here, you should come across a report by Chris Soucy that attempted to quantify via testing, a boatload of characteristics of a number of popular tripods. |

I bought the whole kit with these legs and fsb6 for my xf300. Extremely happy with the rig. Please don't chinse out on the legs. You have a great camera and the perfect head, would be a shame to get inferior legs that negate the smoothness possible. Also a thought, the kit I bought was about $1700. This is an enormous savings over buying the head and legs separately. (about $2200 and no case!) Might consider selling your head and buying the kit. Could save a bunch of money and get a perfectly matched rig. |
