Gorillapod slr zoom and a 700rc2?

Anyone know if it would be possible to attach a 700rc2 to a gorillapod slr zoom? Seems like a neat idea in a tough spot, and easy to travel with.

Thoughts?

Hey Erik, I can't really make a comment on this for I have no experience with that model. However, I did just get the bottom-of-the-line Gorillapod, and it is awesome. It is so flexible you can do just about anything with it. including putting it on your bike and using it like a little steady cam!

I have a feeling I will end up using it more then my real tripod... The only down side with the small one is that the camera wobbles a little bit.

You can rap the legs around the shoulder-strap of your camera bag if you use one, thats how I transport mine.

I would highly recommend it if your set up does work out.

Best wishes!

Thanks for the reply. I haven't seen one of these in person so I was wondering how steady one could make the thing when wrapping it around stuff. It would be cool to be able to put a fluid head like the 700rc2 onto it--but only if it could be secured well enough. At the very least it would be a cool way to mount the head for still videos not requiring panning, zooming, etc.

I did order the slr zoom one. It is overkill in terms of the weight of camera it supports, but the fact that you can throw a small fluid head like the 700rc2 is compelling for my AG-HSC1U. I know it is no replacement for a good tripod, but in situations where you don't want to drag a tripod around it might provide some flexibility beyond free-hand recording.

Wow... This is the question I was researching. I am wondering the same. Planning a trip and want to travel light and compact.
