Camera mounting on kiteboard...

I did this last Summer ..and first mounted the camera on a kite after seeing this site: http://www.camrig.com/photos.php Rather than using a still cam that takes short clips, I got the Sanyo Exacti WP. There's some clips on my wetstuff site. Cheers.

Hi Jim,

Can you post a link to your wetstuff site. I can't seem to find it anywhere. That shark is a bit close!

Grant: It's simply: www.wetstuff.com You'll have to wade thru the Kite pages to get to the one where I've got the actual vids. I host them on my site - no youtube.

Great vids, you must have had fun with these. As a non-surfer, the board mounted shots seem a bit limited. I expect they work well when edited with other angles.

Exactly... If you're not a kiteboarder - even surfers would looks at this: Waaa?! ...because they're typically more short term and up/dn. I get some big 3'rd dimension jumps, but that's also out of surfers range of experience.

So the vids done on the board are well out of normal context - and pretty booooring! unless it's your feet in the straps. It looks kinda-like I mounted the cam on a RC boat...

I'm going to mount the cam on a rowing shell next; it's a sport of fine precision movement and this might make a good training aid. Cheers.
