Rail systems for XL2 and Sigma lenses

Hi all I'm looking for a rail system to allow me to use my Sigma lens (70-200 f2.8 HSM) with my Canon XL2 any one suggest any relativity affordable systems? I'm based in UK BTW.

Hi Andy

You have informations here
Sigma 120-400mm f/4.5-5.6 DG OS HSM on XL2 it's a previous post on this forum.
or here on my web site http://wwvideo.tv/page15/web-news.html

I think to modify the system by integrating a machined Dove tail to avoid the use of the head plate and add two Novoflex MC quick adaptators.
You have also the Ronsrail system more universal than my construction, but more expensive. Or the system from "ReallyRightStuff" less expensive but a little bit light.
The secret is to obtain a very rigid plate with a good thickness to avoid vibrations and adding dampers materials like "Sorbothane" or other in thin foils between the plate and the camera/lens system.

Sorry for my English

Hi

I'm not sure but the link to Ronsrail don't answer ?
Did they exist this day, the last time, two month later, they said to me, that they were out of stock for the rail. But available on special invoice.

Have you informations ?

Hi Gilles,

I am not sure what has happened to ronsrail but when you try to go to his web site I get a warning of unsafe site. I know that the rail has has been shown as unavailable for sometime now. I use a rail system from true lens services http://www.truelens.co.uk/ It does not show on their web site, but give them a ring they make one especially for the canon xl

Regards

Mick
