Underwater and Overland

Here's a recent ocean swimming event that my company shot, the editing is a little rough as it was a 24hr turn around with shoot and edit. Keen for some comments as we are hoping to shoot a whole series.
It was shot with 5/7D's and underwater with a Canon XHA1, water quality was horrible and so was the weather so it was a pretty tough shoot...

Jonathan,

Sene no one has commented I went and watched your video. Not knowing what the objective was or the parameters you had to work within makes commentary a little difficult.

I felt the really short clips and sudden changes not real harsh to my eyes.

You shot with 5, 7d cameras, right?? if that was the case I would have liked to see closeups and distant shots of crossing the finish lines, the Break aways and such. Close ups of them swimming out would have been good as well. I feel that you could have given this event more "Character" so to speak.

while the water color was not great I think that added depth to the video and I would have liked to see them swimming in and then coming out of the water for the run to the tape, swithching from back to front.

24 hour turn around is tuff!! did you have others with you to help shooting or was this mono???

Looked like a tuff shoot to be certain!!!

Hindsight is always accurate and you probably thought of everything I mentioned.

Thanks for the comments Dale, there was another shooter but I had to pretty much do the whole edit.

I agree with you on the additional shots, I'll try and incorporate those next time.
