Spring at Fall Creek

Spent a day hiking in Sumter National Forest on Fall Creek which flows into the Chattooga River. It was mostly overcast which taxed my camera's low light capability but I managed to get enough footage for this short. Shot using a Panasonic HPX170. Edited with Edius 5.5 and encoded with TMPGEnc 4 express. Music “Above the Clouds” by B. Crutchfield and is licensed for use from audiojungle.com. Additional audio from “Volivieri” at freesound.org.

Re: Spring at Fall Creek

Mark, another fantastic video. Always a treat to watch your waterfalls with my morning coffee. You make me want to retire and spend more time in the field. Thank you. Bob

Nice job, hope your equipment has dried out by now.

Re: Spring at Fall Creek

Yea, keeping things dry around waterfalls is a chore. A couple of years back I was a little careless and it cost me an expensive lens replacement. I am thinking about buying a waterproof GOPRO Hero2 once the 35mbs firmware upgrade becomes available to be able to really get into the action.

Thanks for sharing Mark. You have a great eye. Interesting how well you were able to pull different DOF looks out of the 1/3" chip camera. This could have passed for a GH2 video!

Re: Spring at Fall Creek

Thanks Tim. I have been thinking about getting a GH2 for macro and wide scenic shots. These kind of shots is where the HPX170 is a little weak in capturing fine details.
