Appalachian Spring

My tribute to spring here in the southern part of the Appalachian mountains. Shot with a Panasonic HPX170 and edited with Edius 5.51.

Well Mark, what a wonderful surprise. Got home last night and watched this twice. Watched it again this morning. I think this was one of your best videos. The shots of the waterfalls made the water look like lace. The music was wonderful and the editing perfect. I showed it to my wife and said to her "that is the kind of video I would love to shoot". Maybe someday I will run into you somewhere in the north Georgia mountain. Take care and again, an excellent video. Bob

Wot, no banjos ?
Seriously, very nice. Makes me want to get out with my recently acquired EX3 and get shooting with the stock lens instead of always long telephotos pointed at bird-life.

Liked all the wildflowers. I share that anglo-saxon habit of always wanting to know names and life-histories. Best sometimes just to appreciate.

Thanks. Worked hard on this one along with being in the right place at the right time.

Re: Appalachian Spring

Mark quick question did you use zebra striping on your exposure settings and if so at what percentage? I just keep watching it. Bob.

Re: Appalachian Spring

Bob, I use 100% zebras and adjust aperture to when the zebra just barely begins to show. On white water scenes I open up some. Also, some scenes were adjusted in post using "curves".

Re: Appalachian Spring

Mark, hope all is going well. Thank you for the information on zebras. I just got back from a short trip to Savannah and tried them there. Beautiful results, thank you so much for the information. Bob
