Final Cut Pro and HDV

Not quite taken the plunge yet guys, but it will likely be Canon when I do. What is all the Hoo - Ha about problems editing Canon HDV footage in Final Cut Pro and what is the best Macontosh configuration.

HDV footage....

due to its compression seems to slow the processors of the G5 down quite substantially. A good Mac G5 2.5Ghz dual processor dual core is a monster machine and very powerful in itself. Saying that people I know who work with Z1's see a very noticeable drop in processor performance during editing. They are using FCP 5.0.4.

Hope this helps.
Mark.

I work with two FX1's and I love Apple's workflow in FCP 5 with HDV.
