White Flight

That's how Don DesJardin describes these American White Pelicans drifting in and out of frame ... the overhead aspect conveys aerial images of pelicans that are quite different to the footage I usually see of them skimming along the mangroves ...

Nice footage. Very smooth. Mind if I ask what tripod you used?

Thanks for the nice video!

Gabriel,
The only rig I have, until I can afford something better, a Manfrotto 3283 tripod with a 501 head. It takes a really concentrated effort to make it work smoothly, and a lot of practice.

Don,

Nice footage. Pelicans soar up to great heights 5000 to 8000 feet high, amazing in itself. We have them here and they cause trouble for the air force training base that fly over our local skies.. it would be grand to film them from up in the air viewing down to put things in perspective!!

Don,

Nice to see so many Pelicans, in Hong Kong we normally only have 16 Dalmation Pelicans during the migration period. Attached is one coming into land

Bob,
Very nice indeed. Like 747 landing among a bunch of Piper Cubs. They are near the top when it comes to graceful flyers.
