Our Judge for UWOL #11 is...

Our judge for this round is one of DVinfo's own. He has brought a great deal of
insight and experience to the Under Water, Over Land forum (long before we even
had that forum!) and has always been generous in sharing his knowledge of
shooting wildlife with long lenses. His work always blends technical expertise
with a profound artistic vision.

He has been producing and filming wildlife documents to the Finnish Broadcast
Company YLE for about 15 years and is currentlyworking on an international
documentary of Northern Finland for YLE and the German-French TV-channel ARTE.

He has also worked with several internationally known musicians who have given
live concerts synchronized with wildlife films in the background.

His formal background is in science and engineering. He worked
work several years in music recording studios and played guitar in a
rock-jazz/fusion jazz band before becoming involved in wildlife
photography and filming. He spent a the greater portion of his life in the
wilderness and was very drawn to Northern Scandinavian forests, where he was
drawn to wildlife filming.

Please welcome LAURI KETTUNEN as your judge for UWOL #11...

That is "thank you very much" in Swedish.

Hi, Thank you all for your kind comments and many thanks to Meryem for asking me to judge UWOL #11. All this has generated a lot of thoughts in my mind and hope to give you all useful feedback on Wednesday the 29th.

I guess one of the main difficulties in judging is to put my own "eyeglasses" aside and capture what each author has tried to express with his/hers video. To be as neutral as possible, I'll not read your posts on the submitted videos before had made up my decisions and posted the results.

Lauri,

I went to your link for your page and realized I hasd been there before, some great stuff.

I look forward to you considerations and comments.
