UWOL41 Life on repeat by Trond Saetre

Repetition of life of the woods. What came first, the trees or the cones. Who knows.
I think this was my plan E or something like that. Didn't get all the shots I wanted.
Feel free to tear it apart.

Great location, loads of interesting features. The waterfall is something I wanted to film, but the only one near by is BeccyFalls. The downside is you have to pay to visit it, as someone slapped a visitors center on it.- Its not that impressive to pay for.

I really liked the use of the theme - your VO made sense of the visuals and there was a story there. Some really nice forrest footage.

Thank you guys. I'm glad you like it.

Something is messing up here today. When I first answered here, posts from another thread showed up, even though I didn't visit that thread until after.

Hi Trond. I think you put together a decent video. One comment I would make is a few shots are a little unstable which coming from me is a little ironic as I've been guilty of the same thing lately. I don't know if a person ever gets all the shots they wanted. Is this normal weather for you?
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Trond, great interpretation of the theme as well as bringing in the chicken and egg conundrum! Good visuals that along with the VO told a story. Well done, Mick

Re: UWOL41 Life on repeat by Trond Saetre

Hi Trond. As others have mentioned this was a nice use of the theme - a clear simple idea. Some very picturesque woods, and tied together with a nice story. In there you mentioned about the water always flowing, although it could be nice to expand on that with where it comes from and goes to (the water cycle - evaporation / rain) even briefly.
I think the music also punctuated the story well. It might be nice to have the natural sounds more slowly fade in and out at times - probably for the rushing water.
I also think stability is generally suited to this kind of video (I'm very aware I needed more in my shots). At about 0:32 there looks to be some distortion, did you use Warp Stabilizer on that one?

Hi Trond,

A very nice film - one of your better ones recently - good, well communicated idea and illustrated throughout the scenes from death to birth in a repeating cycle - I agree with Andrew about adding a bit of natural sound.
Thanks!

Mick and Paul: Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad you liked it.

Andrew: Yes, I used warp stabilization in the shot at 0:32. I filmed filmed everything handheld.
I'll remember your comment about the fading of the natural sounds.
Thanks!

Thank you, Dale!
Yes, winter is crazy this year. One day +9C and the next -7C. I miss the snow.
You are right, I did try to cut to the beat where it fit the story.
