UWOL#3 - “The Wild” by Victor Wilcox
 

This is my first submission. I figured I might as well jump into the fire. I’ve only had my camera since November, 2006. It’s been a real education, viewing the UWOL submissions. I got the footage before work and during lunch near my job. I’m still bleeding, from cutting down to 3 minutes. Just wish I hadn’t been too lazy to carry a tripod with me more often.

Some nice footage of birds you have there. I just wish you weren't that lazy, and then I'm thinking of the tripod :)

I think you've done well in your first attempt. You showed lot of species, some of them new to my eyes.
Using a tripod is mentioned. The Dragonfly close-up was nice even if you had some minor focus flaws.
It was also fun to view the nutria among those birds, whish you could done some more out of it.

What really stinks, is I live within 2 hours of 6 major costal bird sanctuaries, but my programming jobs been so busy, I couldn't take time for a trip.

I got my 2X Telephto converter (VCL-HG2037Y) Tuesday. Already got some of those the little buggers I couldn't get close to before. With that and a trip to the Tennessee mountains, during July 4th week, I hope to have lots of new critters and mountains. Just hope some of it is usable in the next challenge.

Keep up the great video. I'm slowly learning by observation.

I really enjoyed all the diversity of wildlife in this video. The closeup shots of the dragonfly were really amazing, though as others have mentioned, a tripod would help. But I am impressed with how much you were able to capture, and the dining bird was a great shot. Keep up the great work!

Very nice job Victor!
As stated, a tripod would have been nice. But I know how that is! I hate carrying my six pound tripod.. Now I just use a Gorilla pod half the time! hahaha.
I think you did a nice job on editing. Thats something I can never seem to get right..

I enjoyed seeing the beaver! I don't think I have ever actually seen one before..

can't say much more than has already been said!! A great first effort!! You got some nice stuff.
I too am making a mountain trip the first of July to film more and new stuff!!!
