My main target was lake-trut playing,I youse allot of time to find the
right location.When I fond it ,the trut-playing was finich one wek to lait!!!!
I capiture allot of clip allong the stream what I end up with.The clip
is hand hold and I was not pleased.But I become in hurry.
So this is my film.

this is beautiful. you really USED the blacks in how you visualized your subject, instead of fighting them, which gave your film a very unique look. the blacks made the greens look very rich, saturated and contrasty.

it is very hard to do good steady hand-held when you are shooting nature video, in my opinion, but i wasn't at all distracted by your handheld work, which seemed quite steady and skilled.

nice work on a challenging theme.

Vidar where was this film during challenge number four "Water"???? Absolutely wonderful images under low light, the music made it roll along at a very nice pace.

Very enjoyable another one I'll be back to look at.

This video had a soothing quality, like the water itself. In fact, to me, the video almost seemed to embody water as an element, your editing flowing with the water, breaking away to show an eddy, then cutting back into the action with the flow of the stream.

Because of the way it was lit, this had an almost surreal effect at times, hard to tell what was water and what was land- and a dreamy not quite night or day feel.

It was very interesting to watch- impressionistic video.

You are quite a formidable addition to team Norway! This film is beautifully done with no distractions from your hand-held filming. For not being able to film what you were after, you still included lots of variation in the stream shots which made it quite interesting to watch. It was well edited and had nice composition. Nicely done Vidar! Like Brian said, where was this entry for the UWOL theme "water"?

Very beautiful shoots of a small stream at night. The quality of the footage is awesome, and the blacks and greens are very well done. I know this is very hard to archieve! The handheld style make this a special mood

Very nice water/stream shots - which I think you shot beautifully.

Kevin Railsback (one of the UWOL masters) shoots water beautifully - especially when he slows the motion down. Perhaps you could consider mixing up the pace to see the effect?

I am unsure of the black edge around your shots, as this certainly limited the viewing area at 428 x 240.

My favourite scene was at 2:43. This was the money shot for me.

This is a beautiful film. I really like the close ups with a shallow DOF. Maybe you could have done some focus shift from foreground to background. Another thing I was thinking of was that you could have edited it to the music, when the music slows down, so dose the creek, when the music is “alive” so is the creek.
The colours are really good, the green and black are super.
In a way I didn’t get the “night feeling” over the film, even if you hade those two skylight shots. The second one felt really hard; maybe you could have used a shallow DOF and shifted from same grass to the sky…

I’m curious, did you illuminate the creek? And if, what light did you use?

use light.

Hi Vidar.
As other have mentioned this would have been a great film for the "water" theme :)
You have an eye for details I think and it shows in your film.
Soundtrack is good and it put me in a relaxing mood watching your film.
Nice of you to use Norwegian title on your entry.
Thinking of uwol as an international comunity, maybe we should do this more?
Just a thought though.

What a wonderful theme, water at night!! the classical music was a great match for the most part, but at the end you have slow moving water with the fst up beat tempo (my only criticism). Very nice footage, all of it!!

What beautiful shots you have made of that little stream! The colours were amazing! I loved the way it (pardon the pun) flowed! :) What sort of lighting were you using to get that sort of detail & colours at night? I really liked this entry.

I do the clip half ouer befor sunset,then the light is optimal for wildlife
shots.But to get soft contrast and greait color I capiture on overcloded evning.
Then I do the rest in post (editing).Take down the gama,and lighting to get
the rest of night feeling.

Hi Vidar, this was really nice.
Most have been said already by the others, so I'll just say that I enjoyed watching your video.
The stream shot starting at 2:42 was my favorite.

Vidar, great stuff!!! I found myself actually feeling a little chill in the air as I watched the stream go by. In some of the scenes I would start to imagine figures emerging on the rocks or in the foam. Your use of light, patterns and classical music make this a great entry. It really made me feel that I was sitting there watching and listening to the water. Great job. Bob
