Some news about our friend Chris Barcellos

Chris recently became afflicted with Bells palsy. It is a condition caused by some nerve blockage and results in half of your face not working correctly. It is not really very well understood, but the good news is that with time the recovery rate is quite high.

Chris, sport that he is, made a video of it and it is on Youtube at:

YouTube - BellsPalsy-What it Looks Like

Join me is wishing him back behind the camera soon.

Spoiled my fun, I was going to post in the "trials and tribullations" page

Chris Swanberg July 17th, 2009 12:43 AM

Ah, I see I am late with my post.... anyway... I am sure some may find it here. Here's to a speedy recovery.

Paul Cascio July 17th, 2009 02:22 PM

Thanks Paul... and you are welcome.

A challenge that's meant to be overcome. Best wishes, Chris.

Chris,

That happened to me last December. A little disconcerting as you think it might be a stroke, but I recovered completely in about 2 months. Really just a minor inconvenience, but way less serious than Gillian Barre'. That crap kicked my butt twenty years ago, and it took more than a year to fully recover.

Glad you can see the humor in losing control of part of your face. Keep smiling!

Dick

Hey Chris - here's hoping for a speedy recovery!

Chris Barcellos July 18th, 2009 11:47 AM

Dick, I am running across a lot of people who have had similar issues. Still concerned about a wide range of potential outcomes, but no use dwelling on it.

Thanks to all for your kind wishes.

Lorinda Norton July 18th, 2009 01:15 PM

Hey Chris,

Either I'm getting to know more people or this is getting to be more common. Scary stuff, regardless. Everyone I know who has dealt with it has fully recovered, so I hope that for you, too.

Paul Tauger July 18th, 2009 01:34 PM

Chris, my best wishes for a quick and easy recovery.

Paul

Sorry to hear about this, Chris, but glad to hear you're expected to come out of it. Hope it doesn't take too long! And I hope I didn't jinx it by saying that.
