UWOL 44 - Seasons change - Life changes by Trond Saetre
 

Summer changes into fall, green turns into yellow and brown. But history changes the nature.
I went over to a small island with some military history. Found some signs dated 1915, but most remains of human presence, were from world war 2. The Germans had an airfield for fighter aircrafts nearby, and this island was part of the defense for the airfield. As times pass by, only the foundations of the buildings remain, and the nature is taking back the area.

Could have used a lot more shots, but time didn't allow.
Any feedback is welcome.

I envy you the boat :)
I'm curious about which island it is and where it lies?
Nice mix of clips, maybe you could use your drone for some area clips?

Finally had a chance to watch your film.
No matter how much we think we are the apex species, nature shows that given the chance she will reclaim what was hers. Given enough time, there won’t be any trace of man at all.

Amazing that after all this time there are still floor tiles on the ground!

Agree with Geir that some aerials would have made it even sweeter.

I plan to go back next summer and film more, and definitely include aerial filming.

Great location and use of the theme Trond.
It would be nice to have some more stable shots and pans - but it still shows the scene well, and I know it's hard when you don't have time ;-)
Aerial footage could really show the scale of the island, and then bring the viewer into some of the locations if you get a chance next time.
