UWOL 52 - Tales of wonders and woes

As always, interaction between the players is encouraged.
What goes great, what did not go as planned, and everything in between, about the making of your UWOL 52 films.

Hope all of you have found an idea for your entries. Your imagination is the limit of how you interpret the theme.

Don't be afraid to ask if you have any questions.
Have fun, and bring it!

How is everyone doing? Anyone still hasn't found an idea yet?
Hope you all do well, and push yourselves.

Have fun!

Re: UWOL 52 - Tales of wonders and woes

I'm not sure, but literally as I was writing just now about how I probably won't get anything done this month, I came up with an idea that I might be able to pull off.

It won't be thrilling, but it has some potential if I'm creative enough to make something of it. :)

Pushing the creativity, can be a challenge itself. Hope it works out for you.

Re: UWOL 52 - Tales of wonders and woes

It’s been a rough start. Monday morning, as I was packing to head to Palo Duro Canyon, one of our two year old heifers got through our fence and was hit by a truck. She was really scraped up but is recovering nicely. Looks like she’s not going to lose her calf.

I got some great shots of Palo Duro Canyon, but the only wildlife I saw was a Mocking Bird, a turkey and a road runner.

I’m scheduled for back surgery to remove a basil carcinoma next week, so I want be out much for the challenge. At least I’ll be cool inside.

Victor -- first of all I wish all the best for the surgery and a quick recovery. Hope you're back filming with us soon.

Palo Duro is a pretty good trip from Plantersville. (Non-Texans really don't realize just how far it is to cross the state like that.) It's a beautiful place, but summer is not the time to see animals except at night. West Texas is the one part of the US I miss more than anywhere else. I could easily live in the Big Bend region.

(Also, sounds like you guys are dodging a bullet with the storm coming through LA this weekend.)

Jut 24 hours later, It looks like I might have an easier time than I thought. There was an airline sale this morning and now I'm heading to the the rainforest to shoot along the Amazon River on the 22nd. I only have 3 days to shoot, but I know the area extremely well so I can plan in detail before I leave. I am REALLY excited as the jungle is where I feel at home.

Hi UWOL 52-ers:

All the best to you this challenge! It's a great theme (Trond, the girls thinking up the themes never seem to disappoint!).

I would have loved to try something, but my plate ended up a bit full. It happens from time to time!

I'm expecting to be wowed with your films and looking forward to August. Have fun!

Victor, hope the surgery goes well and the recovery will be quick.

Phil, you obviously go all in with force to succeed with your entry. Impressive! Looking forward to see what the jungle brings you this round.

Haven't filmed anything yet, but I have the beginning of a weak idea in mind.

Re: UWOL 52 - Tales of wonders and woes

I'm just trying to have fun with it, Trond. I still have no real plan and I'm leaving for the jungle tomorrow for about 3 1/2 days of filming! I do have a general theme and I think I'm going to try something completely different from anything I've ever done. If it works out, it could be really cool. If not, it'll still be fun and I'll learn a lot.

No matter what, how can I not have fun filming along the Amazon River? :)

Hope everyone's projects are coming along nicely. I always look forward to seeing what you all come up with so I can learn from you!

Re: UWOL 52 - Tales of wonders and woes

Looks like I'm out unless I can come up with something in the next couple of days. I haven't given up, but am running out of ideas. (My plans in the rainforest didn't work out as planned!)

Still can't wait to see what others come up with!
