Ok...well...at least I got something submitted this time.

I had a really hard time coming up with something outside that made sense to me story-wise (even after much shooting). So, it is what it is. :-)

I think a little tighter edit would have made it better. Allot of the shots were held a bit long. I also kept waiting for something else to happen at the end.

I think you did a good job of capturing recreation is so many households today!

The beauty of the challenge is that it forces you to do something.

Many people talk about making a film, but you've done it. So that puts you in a whole new catagory!

I look forward to seeing what youo can do in UWOL#3!

You got a video in...that is an accomplishement by any means!

I was waiting for a payoff at the end like some sort of special effect where the game gobbled up the chairbound guy or something but it's pretty poigniant even as is that lots of people find their recreation at the tv playing video games. Heck...my partners 14 year old downstairs may be the next poster boy for World of Warcraft.

Looks like you portrayed the total absorption and addiction of the gamer to the point of obsession quite well.

It was a good video that made me sad, to realize how most people prefer playing videogames to being outdoors. I thought the phone ringing might tie into an ending, but other than that, all the sequences held together for me- nice job.

I agree that some of the shots were held to long. I noticed that when I was watching it the last time too. I think I could definately trim some things up, for sure the first shot is a bit long.

I think that if I were to do it again, I'd try to diffuse my lights a bit and cut the length of the shots.

There was a little something at the end, but no big payoff - but I had to cut it to get the file smaller. It wasn't much though, just some audio over rolling credits (rather then the static credits).

I'm just really pleased that I got something in this time, it gives me hope that I'll be able to do it even better next time.

It was fun to do. Will didn't have to act much by the ending shot because he realy was getting irritated with all the takes. Hahahaha.

Hi Lisa and well done with your uwol#2 video.
It reminds me of my older brother (56) always in front of the PC or a videogame, when I call him. Dont say it's only the youngsters doing this stuf.
Maybe some of the clips where a bit too long, but all in all a nice peace of work.
I wish you good luck in this challenge.

You stayed true to the theme, at a minimum, and certainly addressed one of the most prevelant forms of recreation in todays world!! Kudos for that !!

heh, I am a young person and I don't even play video games that much...
Altho, one of my favorite games is back online.... hmmmm... :)

Lisa, what can I say - get that man out of the sofa!!!
I think this is the life of many people these days, spending their lifes, in front of the TV watching films or playing games.
So I think we (the uwol'ers) have something to do, let's make films that let this people view what's out there. Films that may get them out of the sofa and out to our wonderful world of adventure all over the globe.
And... I think we are on the way...

Recreation doesn't have to be outdoors, and you showed us that.
Next time, bring the videogame outdoors so he can get some fresh air too, haha.

Hi Lisa:

I thought this was very creative and as Ruth says, sadly captures what many Americans do for recreation. All it needed was a bit more development of a story line so it doesn't leave you hanging in the end. Like Kevin said earlier, he was expecting something to happen in the end and it didn't.

One amusing observation... the camera would switch to the player operating the game right when it sounded like it was really getting scary and violent on the video game.... sort of like your film was made for a general audience and thus leaving it to our imaginations as to what horrible scenario was being played out in the video game.

Nicely done Lisa! Just like I have to shorten my introduction for my next movie, you develop that ending and you will put out a quality piece of work.

Congrats and like Per Johan said.... get that man off the sofa!

Great job...it feels great just to get one done in time doesn't it! Thats how I felt with UWOL 1.

I kept waiting for the boss to show up in the online game, kill the player and then tell him to answer his *&^%^ phone.

A little more practice and you will be more comfortable and turn out a product you feel better about.
