Not sure what to do here with the matrox mxo. Please help

Currently I own a 23 inch cinema display, a samsung 22 inch syncmaster 226bw display and a sony trinitron pvm crt which I use for production but I would imagine would suffice for some color grading. My question is should I get the matrox mxo and use my apple display to do my corrections with or should I get something like a kona card and use the crt? I do want to use all of the monitors and have the pvm as a client monitor and I am guessing I could hook it up to the matrox and get a color correct picture but I also want to preview in full hd using the apple cinema sometimes, which is why I am leaning towards the matrox mxo.

Maybe there is something I am just not getting.

Hi James,

MXO can display HDSDI, DVI and component analog at the same time. There are some levels of down conversion, too, so you can use Apple Cinema display displaying full HD. The draw back is that Cinema display does not have the fastest response time, so fast motion in 1080/60i would not be as good. If you are doing 24p then it is fine. But what you can do is looking at the CRT at the same time. So connect the PVM with analog SD component at the same time.

MXO is great if you don't have to capture (that means video are captured through firewire or data transferring like P2 or SxS).

MXO now has monitor calibration which is handy for setting up non-professional monitors without blue-only mode.
