1.3 HDMI compatible with my TV?

I have a 32" Sharp Aquos, and when I bought it 2 people at best buy said the 1.3 cable is better than the 1.2. I asked what the HDMI input is on the TV and they said nothing -it's the cable that matters. So I bought the cable.
I saw the specs of this TV the other day and it said the HDMI input is 1.2!
Should I return the 1.3 cable? Would I have the same quality with a cheaper 1.2? Or do I trust Best Buy?

If you have a 1 or 2 meter run, a v1.2 will do just as well. But the v1.3 cable will be perfectly fine, too.

As far as the cables are concerned, compliance with 1.3 mainly means less signal degradation for a given length of cabling. Not really all that important for short cables, but for 5 meter or longer runs, signal degradation becomes an increasing factor. So the 1.3 cables are then more desireable.

I thought it supports higher resolutions, Deep Color and high frame rates. I don't know what TVs support it right now, but Best Buy says mine does, and some specs I read says it doesn't.
The cable was expensive and if it is in no way better then a 1.2, I don't want to keep it. It's very short by the way.
