HD viewing Monitor for editing

I am looking for a second HD monitor for editing. Im trying to decide between CRT, LCD, PLASMA. Can someone give me a recommendation. I've heard about the Apple LED Cinema Display. Does anyone else use this? I'm shooting in 720p 24fps and currently using a G5 mac. Please help. Thank you

My understanding of the new Apple 24" LED display is that is ONLY works with the new MacBooks having a "mini DisplayPort" adapter, and it will not accept any VGA or DVI inputs nor is there an adapter to do so. Apple does make adapters for the MacBooks to go out to DVI or VGA, but not vice-versa
