Is there a reliable LCD screen to judge color rather then a professional monitor?

Hi,

I am working on a low budget feature film which will be shot with 3 dvx100's.

I would like to monitor it on a laptop, but my DP is worried that he can't judge the colors on a LCD screen.

Is there a good laptop or flat screen out there that is just as good as a monitor?

Cheers,

Joep, from Amsterdam

I believe the Apple Cinema screens are very good. They also
come with color profiles if I'm not mistaken. But, wait for someone
with real experience with these screens to pop in.

if you search this site you will find discussions about affordable alternatives to dedicated monitors. Sony and Toshiba both have 20inch color tvs with component and s-video hookups for well under 300.00 US and you can color calibrate them with a variety of software/hardware solutions.
