Monitor Choice

Which output monitor do you think would be the best choice to use with my NLE system.

Sony PVM-14L1 13-Inch Studio Monitor with 600 Lines, NTSC $449

or

Magnavox 15" HD-Ready LCD TV $349

Both would be hooked up via s-video cable to the BOB of a Matrox RT2500 card.

Mark

For accuracy to your video, the Sony NTSC monitor will win hands down.

LCD TVs don't give you an accurate idea of what your video will look like on CRTs (which is what most people have). The colors will be off, and it will not show interlacing.

NTSC monitors are built for accuracy and don't have cheats in them like consumer TVs do.

Go with the Sony- but go with teh L5 not the L1. The L5 has true SMPTE phosphors. I own one- it's a great piece.
