16:9 capable television/monitors
I have mentioned the Toshiba 14" client monitor I use several places on the forums and folks keep asking for the model number. This is a 4:3 native television with a 16:9 letterboxing mode built into the remote control.
I shoot with the Sony DSR-PDX10 in 16:9 exclusivly and this is a great monitor for both my client oriented work in 4:3 as well as my personal work in 16:9. There are 3 sizes for this Toshiba monitor. 14", 24" and 27" and all are pretty mush the same. The sharpness of my 14" is great. It has composite, S-Video and Component inputs as well as a composite output. You can capture whats playing on the set with a deck or use that output to loop to another monitor. A great feature not found in 90% of the monitors out there at the consumer level. Here are the links to the Best Buy pages for these units. The 14" version I currently use for clients: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1099390204094 The 24" version: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1099394918591 The 27" version: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1099394918647 My next client monitor however is going to be this one: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1097582050451 Enjoy, Sean |
