Varizoom monitor operating voltage?

I have a Varizoom VZ TFT-7. I am wondering if I can run it from a different power source other than the supplied battery. Ideally I would use the Anton Bauer power tap on my camera. It will output a higher voltage than the 12V from the regular source, probably more like 14V. I know this will blow the circuits in a cheap Marshall and wondered if it was safe with this unit? Any body got any experience of this? Thanks

David
