HVX-200 Monitor

Hello everyone,

Currently looking for a monitor solution under the $600 range (I know there will be alot of criticism on this but I am patching my business together on a tight budget) - and I figure any monitor is better than none. I have no problem using my Laptop with onlocation for an indoors interview type setting - but I am looking for something more portable to bring with me on the field to assist with focusing. I know I will not get anything close to a true hd monitor for this price.

I came across this 7" Marshal Monitor for $399.99 - Marshall Electronics 7" HDMI Camera-Top Monitor Kit w/LP-E6 Equivalent Battery On-Camera Video Monitors M-LCD7-HDMI-B-CE6 - Vistek Canada Product Detail

I figure I can buy a d-terminal to d-terminal cable and connect my camera direct. Would this type of connect work? Would this be a decent "starter monitor"

Another monitor I am interested in is a varizoom VZ-TFT-7U. VariZoom VZ-TFT7U 7" Ultimate LCD Monitor Kit VZ-TFT-7U -
Seems like a nice all-included ready to go type kit. The pixel resolution seems a bit whacky to me (1440 x 234 pixels) but maybe I am missing something. It does however only seem to have RCA inputs (which maybe doesnt matter?)

I know alot of other people have been fooling around with these $200 liliput monitors - and I am actually reading alot of postive reviews. Not sure if this is something I really want to play around with or not though.

I was just hoping for some input and ideas.

Thanks,

Dale W

I think you read that 1440 x 234 actually as 480 x 234. The 1440 is referring to 3 colors at each pixel. I was told that this is something some adman came up with to make us think we are getting a true high def image.

I have a Marshall with similar screen specs, and it is much better resolution than the so called 1440 x 234 claimed resolution in an LCD I bought earlier. I bought it knowing that for a lot less money, but you just have to be aware.
