Lilliput Monitor for DSLR Filiming

I've done my research and have decided to go with a
Lilliput. My question to you is which model should I go with and why?

Annie Haycock November 1st, 2010 10:13 AM

I'm considering the Car Computer - Lilliput 669GL-70NP/C - 7" HDMI monitor (non-touch scre and a Car Computer - Mini External Battery - mobile power for Lilliput monitors

But there is more discussion going on here: http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/canon-eo...ml#post1501225

Just curious -- if you haven't decided on a model, how did you decide on Lilliput? That's like saying you will buy a KIA but need to know which car to get.

I'm not trying to be mean, but want to make sure you get something that will work for you and to do that, we need to compare model to model, not brand to brand,

Annie Haycock November 1st, 2010 05:24 PM

In my case, it's what's available here in the UK in my price range. And as I can probably break an expensive model more easily than a cheap one (according to Sod's law), I'll go with the relatively cheap range this time.

Scott, you're not being mean. To explain using your car example. If I know I want a Dodge truck, do I want the Quad Cab, Do I want a Hemi, Do I want a 4x4 with a tow package?

Back to the Lilliput, there is the 6", the 7", the 8", the 2009 model, the 2010 model, the 2011 model, Touch screen?

Was just wondering if others who have used the Lilliput could shed some knowledge on whether one model is better than another.

There's nothing wrong with that, though. Many people, including my wife and me, shop
by brand first and then decide what to choose within that brand... cars are an excellent
example of that. It might not make much sense to you, but people do indeed shop that
way.

Hey guys, just an FYI. I went with:

Lilliput 7" HDMI Monitor 669GL-70NPC

I let you know how it works out.

Nigel Barker November 5th, 2010 04:00 AM

This is the one that I have. It is excellent in use & amazingly good value.

Robin Davies-Rollinson November 5th, 2010 06:51 AM

Agreed on that - I use this one too!
(I just wish it had component in as well...)

Jean-Philippe Archibald November 5th, 2010 07:27 AM

Robin, my 669 have component inputs. It was optionnal and replace the VGA input. Look: http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/view-vid...ml#post1583080

You might be able to get the breakout cable directly from the distributor?

Robin Davies-Rollinson November 5th, 2010 10:21 AM

Merci Jean-Philippe!

As one of the key features of this mnoitor is the HDMI input then I presume the answer is "Yes". There is optionally component input too.
