Video Program Switching

We are a broadcast producer and currently are in charge of our clients low power transmitters where basically the local low power station simply has a satellite receiver, a programmable Leightronix switcher, and a low power transmitter. For our client, we produce broadcast programs and commercial content in MPEG2 and put it on a swappable HDD and then program the broadcast times and all is great. However, these units are getting very old (been in service over 10 years) and are beginning to fall apart.

So, what I need to know is if there is some computer software solution that is reasonably priced for PC or MAC that will accomplish the same result. That is, we need to have a way that the satellite will pass through the computer (in and straight out) to the transmitter with the ability to program in over ride show times by date, time in hours/mins/secs, which will allow MPEG2 video shows to be aired over or instead of the straight through sat connection.

Any help in this matter will be great appreciated.
