VGA...DVI...which monitor for future HD editing?

I‘m upgrading my system and looking at buying two new LCD monitors. Keeping an eye on editing HD in the future, what monitors should I be looking at? Will a standard VGA LCD work? Do I need DVI? Or is there another type of monitor altogether for viewing HD while editing?

Thanks –

Just about all the new monitors use DVI although converters are pretty cheap. Instead of the interface I think you should probably be more concerned with the resolution and aspect ratio if you want to be HD compatible. Ideally you want 1920x1080 pixels in the 16:9 aspect ratio. But 1920x1200 seems to be more common for a computer monitor.

Spend a little time browsing through our monitors forum for some ideas: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/forumdisplay.php?f=112

Thanks Boyd --I didn't realize there was a monitors forum! I'll take it over there...

No problem. I've moved your thread to the monitors forum. But please don't cross-post the same thing to more than one forum, it's against DVinfo policy because it fragments the discussion and makes things hard to follow.
