Marshall vs Laptop

Which would work better for monitoring HD footage in the field?

An on-camera marshal lcd or a 17" powerbook(anti-glare)?

Thanks,
Daniel

An HD capable monitor, with component inputs, might be the best type. Probably Marshal has such model, likely expensive.

High rez LCD's are expensive. It also depends on the final destination of your project. If your going to a compressed solution that's only intended for playback on PC's, then a laptop would suffice. Otherwise, you'd need to rent a good quality monitor for broadcast.

Serious magic has DVRack 2, and it does HD, and has a the tools that will allow you to color correct or adjust your laptop monitor to match the HD spec. They have a 10 day trial. However, the trial is fussy and prematurely expired on me.
