Video Goggles

I have been toying with the idea of using video game/movie goggles for field monitoring for clients or as another tool in the field. The cost seems low. Has anyone tried this idea yet....any pros or cons you might think of?

I did try searching for video glasses/goggles on the thread and didnt find any discussion.

Thoughts?

They only fit one head!

if you've got a couple of clients they can stand round a monitor and all see the same thing.

I guess I was thinking just one client. The 300 odd dollars for what seems to be pretty good resolution for the goggles seems a cheap way to go for that 1 person. I hate to have them hovering over the shooting monitor.

Has anybody actually used a set? I'd be curious to know.

Couple things:

1-Everybody that I know that has used them often say they can induce headaches.

2-I'd never dream of asking a client to look goofy like that. If I brought that up to my exec producer, he'd freak. In my mind, it's paramount to asking them to wear a propeller beanie.

Can you use them as a monitor for the cameraman?

I have a few clients who might look better in a propeller hat....

Bad Idea all around.. Save the money man save the money... i tryed them some time back at a show. and god i had a killer pain behind my eyes for 2 days... I hate headaches and im not the only one.. you dont want a client to walk away with one. you always want your client in a good mood...

plus they look goofy.
