Best on camera field LCD?
Looking for a good, small LCD for focus and easier framing/viewing in the field, I do not want to bring a large setup so I was looking between 5.6 and 10inch, with 7 or 8inch looking the most promising. Are there any great deals or any standouts? I am shooting HD so should I look for a 1080 or at least 720 or does it matter at that small size? are they at all useful for color checking? or for that matter for focus checking? I am looking at the http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...D_Monitor.html for about 490.00 the http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...creen_LCD.html for 330.00 and the http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...D_Monitor.html for 750.00 that says 1080/720 support, but has less horizontal elements and more verticle, is this helpful?
What do you use? Larger? smaller? would love to hear some feedback. Thanks. Stephen Eastwood http://www.StephenEastwood.com |
Hi Stephen and welcome to DVinfo! We have a whole forum devoted to monitors so I've moved your thread there. This topic has been discussed frequently, so spend a little time browsing through the forum: http://www.dvinfo.net/conf/forumdisplay.php?f=112

Anything below the Ikan V8000 is pretty much unusable for HD focus. Even the 8000 is only 800x480 resolution.
As you guys know, I am designing my own 1280x768 res monitor. Otherwise check out the Marshall and Nebtek monitors as well. Bruce Allen www.boacinema.com |
