Vacation Bible School Same Day Edit

I shot my church's VBS program all last week (Mon-Fri) from 9am till 1pm. I shot roughly 4hrs of footage for all five days, but I (thankfully) spent some time Thursday recording the footage from tape for the footage shot till then. Friday I shot about 1/2 the footage used in the SDE (since it was fresh in my mind, but also because I foolishly waited to shoot interviews & some of the more notable scenes until the last day). So from 2pm till 6pm, I was recording footage and paging through 4 hours of footage to find the good shots, etc.

I even 1/2 way considered moving my entire edit system (3 LCDs, 1 broadcast monitor, a tower, speaker system etc) into a conference room so I could edit on site. But it turns out I had ZERO spare time that week since I also had a deposition to film on Thursday, and two separate client site visits earlier in the week.

Needless to say, this was quite an experience. The result, flawed though it may be, is my quickest ever shot-to-edit-to-delivery production. Check out the results here. And best of all, all media are legally obtained & used (thanks to NASA for the great Apollo 11 footage & audio).

Anyone else filmed a multi-day (non-wedding) event for final edit & delivery at the conclusion of that event? Pretty crazy. Lots of lessons learned here. Apparently I am the first videographer they have that filmed the last day of the program. Most bailed out on the last day to instead focus on editing. What can I say.... I'm a glutton for punishment.

Hehehehe Contract? This is all a verbal volunteer basis. The audio and color correction were non-existent since I didn't even have time to touch that yet.
